Étant Donnés is a duet formed by Eric and Marc Hurtado and created in Grenoble in 1980.
Born respectively in 1959 and 1962 in Rabat, Morocco,the two brothers have chosen both orality and writing. For more info you can visit their fantastic website here. Their first 7" ( VN oo2) came out on Vita Nova a French industrial/experimental/electronic label in 1983. The music on this 7" can be described as an exercise in cut up,voice manipulation and natural sound manipulation. This counts for all three tracks as they could have been easily recorded as one track. It's a fine document of Étant Donnés from the early eighties.
